Five destinations. Different objectives.
Choose the route.
Understand the commitment.
A residence permit, citizenship and tax residence are different outcomes. These starting points help frame a conversation; the right comparison includes your family, total costs, investment risk and ongoing obligations.
01 / EUROPEResidence
Portugal
A long-term connection to Portugal, with investment and cultural routes to explore.
- Fund route
- €500,000 in qualifying non-real-estate investment funds.
- Cultural route
- €250,000 standard contribution; €200,000 only where the legal low-density reduction applies.
- Decision to make
- Compare investment risk and liquidity with the non-recoverable nature of a cultural contribution.
Direct property purchases no longer qualify for the Golden Visa. Eligibility depends on the route and supporting documents; residence does not confer citizenship automatically.

Italy
An investor residence route for non-EU citizens considering a connection to Italy.
- Investment choices
- €250,000 in an innovative startup; €500,000 in an Italian limited company; or €2 million in government bonds.
- Contribution alternative
- €1 million for a qualifying philanthropic initiative.
- Decision to make
- Match the exposure and capital commitment to your wider portfolio and plans for Italy.
The programme offers a two-year investor visa. Eligibility restrictions apply. A property purchase alone is not one of these qualifying options, and any tax regime requires a separate assessment.
